One United
Year made: 2024
Designed: logo, poster, magazine cover
One United was a speculative brief I worked on during my placement with TBWA. One United is a fanzine around the football club Manchester United. They started a fanzine to gauge fan opinion whilst being a completely independent entity away from the football club.
One United's core values are to give back to the Manchester community and bring together Manchester United fans from all over the globe.

Poster/Magazine cover concept
The concept behind the design of the magazine cover and poster was to show that fans and players are united as one, so in my image searching I wanted an image that showed the players and fans celebrating.
To add the text I wanted for a magazine cover I believe having the geometric shapes were imperative in order to make the text more legible. It also helped add depth to the magazine giving it a layering effect.

Logo Wordmark
For this logo I wanted to create the number 1 to double up and be the letter i as well. The way I decided to go about this was to add the appendage to the number 1 to make it obvious whilst still keeping the structural integrity so it could also be an I.
This also helped create a visually appealing typographic font that looks professional and can fit in with current modern design trends.

Colour Palette
I used the Lust Red and Selective Yellow as these colours were quite similar to the colours used on the football club's crest, they were also used as these colours allowed the text on them to stand out and more legible to the viewer.
The main use for the Eerie Black and White colours mainly for the text for the type, I did this to keep things simple so it would be easily readable to people who may have optical difficulties.
